New trends in residential care settings

Posted on: January 15, 2023

We get asked all the time, "How did you come up with the idea for Angels Care Family Home?"

Like many new business owners, Angels Care was created because of a very personal and real experience.

In 2012, my father passed away unexpectedly and instantly and unbeknownst to me, I became the Trustee and Power of Attorney for my grandmother who was already living in an Assisted Living Facility in Virginia.

Over the next few years, I realized that setting wasn't really ideal for someone with Dementia so I set out to look at alternatives.  Out of that research the idea for Angels Care was borne.

There are many new and large Assisted Living and Memory Care centers in and around Cincinnati with more on the way.

What's different about Angels Care you ask?  Simply, our caregiver to resident ratio and our smaller setting simply cannot be matched.

We hear it weekly from families touring other facilities or when we speak with discharge planners, social workers and DON's at other facilities-they are all challenged with taking care of 15-25 residents with 2-aides.  You simply cannot give good care that way.....PERIOD.

As Angels Care continues to grow across greater Cincinnati, we know that our smaller setting and high staff to resident ratios will continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve and equally as important to the families who come to visit and spend time with their loved ones.
